Hello gals & ghouls. Happy Halloween. Carve out a pumpkin, ingest wee fistfuls of candy and get your supernatural freak on. As a kid, this was one of my favourite nights of the year. I mean, you get to dress up, stuff your face and scare yourself silly. Beat that, Easter! To help get you into the witching hour spirit, I leave you with the Divine Miss M in Hocus Pocus (a classic from my childhood).
I love Polaroids but don't have a camera anymore or 600 film. What a sob story. However, I do have my eye on the new Polaroid 300 instant camera. The images look quite sharp and it's so compact.
For now, my 'faux'laroids will have to suffice. (These happy snaps of mine are from a recent road trip to Daylesford).

These are my geek chic glasses i procured from a little shop in Harajuku. When i wear them I like to pretend I'm Diane Keaton (circa Annie Hall) and talk endlessy of my neurosis and drink lots of coffee. This 'glasses persona' is different to me how? Caffeine jacked up, over analytical behaviour is akin to me already. Oh dear.
Their insistent undertones are as excited and impatient as petulant children.
They meet at night, in silence, for the tacit agreement of emergency love.
The act begins.
The walls clamour for the valour of her moans;
uninhibited, melancholic, unashamed.
He clings to every fibre of her realness,
her tangible body,
that which is beautifully flawed.
They are night birds.
Never more familiar and removed from one another.
Fingers tug and rip at buttons, seams, any obstacle in the way of flesh.
Silence remains.
Words would only mar this magnificent duet.
Just touch; the urgency of the ephemeral love is understood.
Enclose me and I will resign myself to you.
Then the walls will clamour for our love
and bemoan the morning when the buttons are fastened once more
and we become strangers again.
Let me introduce you to my Aunty Jenny and Uncle Peter. That's them in 1966, a pretty spiffy looking couple, don't you think? They lived and travelled the world together. They never had any children of their own but loved doting on their favourite nieces and nephews (i.e. one spoilt, little Frockette). They had each other and that was
They've both passed on now, taken by cancer. Peter was diagnosed first and Jennifer nursed him until she herself was tragically diagnosed and degenerated quickly. She passed away first in 2007. My uncle didn't last too much longer in this world without her. He was known to carry her ashes around with him wherever he went; riding in the car, out to dinner at restaurants, her urn always close by. He was still trying to experience the world with her by his side. That really blew me away, his constancy and dedication to her. I thought 'Wow, that is real love".
Cancer claimed his life within a year of her passing but i think he died of a broken heart. Their devotion to each other was encompassing, their love is their legacy. Jenny and Peter; so beloved.

Dearest Reader,
I am about to go into a period of silence, don't be alarmed- I'm going to a place where the internet is scarce and mobile phones are frowned upon. I will be waking up at 5:30am each morning and lots of meditation and yoga will ensue. Wish me luck and see you in a week.

I said this can't be me
Must be my double
And I can't forget, I can't forget
I can't forget but I don't remember what

Here is a small, tiny, lilliputien, short film, that i made last week. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment-capture-the-light kind of whimsical tangent. Anyways, hope you like it... x

The Milky Way dims and morning stars fade.
