O Ryan Gosling, you are creating unrealistic fantasies in the minds of lusty beings near and far... and now this! Goslingophila has taken hold of my white blood cells. Someone please send for help.
...and it's good.
Vocalist and guitarist.... violinist and autoharp player?!
Marques is classically trained and intuitively soulful. An accomplished instrumentalist who was once found busking on the graffitied street corners of Brick Lane and is now touring the world. I plan on seeing him in NYC but he is also playing at Splendour in the Grass in Queensland in July! Do yourself a favour and get your hot, little hands on a ticket.
This is the kind of song that would be appropriate to slow dance to whilst standing on your lover's feet. Rugged up in blankets and completely oblivious to the wet, weary weather.
So here you go, Lovers!
If I was an old man living in LA, I would definitely want to be spending my summers like this. Shaking soda pop and dancin in pools and what not. Oh and did I mention that Fool's Gold are rad? Well, they are. So there.
Music
i'm pretty sure this is the best music video i have ever seen in my 25 years of existence.
9:27 PMEl Guincho to the max.
these guys are doing an Australian tour this week and I am super tempted to find a ticket to bop along to their awesomeness this Saturday night. Hmmm....must find a ticket and funds to buy said ticket. This could be tricky. Otherwise, YouTube clips might have to suffice. Just like this one. Blam.
A slow & hot start to Saturday; I spent the morning making bowls of mixed cereal (cheerios & nutrigrain), sifting through records, making a mixtape- old school style (an actual cassette tape. a rarity, a lo-fi relic!) and taking photos...
How do you whittle the weekend away? What are your sloth-like activities of joy?
i am trying to break your heart. Oh, Jeff Tweedy! With lyrics like: "I want to hold you in the Bible-black predawn. You're quite a quiet domino, bury me now" You have already and you don't know it.
Enjoying your Sunday? I'm sitting here with the weekend paper drinking a cup of coffee and listening to Scott Matthew on vinyl. So it's only fair that I share some of my Sunday joy with you. Here is a bit of ear candy from the golden voiced Scott Matthew, a cover of one of my favourite Lou Reed songs -
Candy Says.

Scott Matthew lives in New York but hails from Queensland, Australia (like me!). He has released several albums and is featured on John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus soundtrack. He has lent his voice to Anime series and plays the ukulele. You dig? I do.
