Hello all,
Sorry, you haven't seen hide nor hair from me lately. I've been a bad blogger. I've been challenged in the interweb department (a blogger without internet? obscene. i know). Also, I was busy performing in a piece of theatre called Prodigal, which had a brief but brillant lifespan at 45downstairs (here in Melbourne). Does that explain my absence? Can we let bygones be bygones? I'm here now. And I've missed you.

This is a wonderful animation from Benjamin Arthur and is narrated by one of my Radiolab favourites, Robert Krulwich. Krulwich's article on this mystery is here on the NPR site.
I celebrate myself, and sing myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.
I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.
-Walt Whitman, Song of Myself
No doubt (wherever you are in the world) you woud've have seen the news headlines about flash flooding & inland tsunami in Queensland, Australia. 75% of the state has been declared a disaster zone with 9 people dead and 59 missing. So many have lost their homes & all possessions. My own family are faced with the possibility of having to evacuate and find higher, safer ground.
ABC News 24 is streaming footage online here (free of any geo-blocks, so you can watch updates wherever you are in the world) .
To help ease the devastation in this dire, dangerous weather please consider donating to the Flood Relief Appeal. Every little bit helps.
Keep safe & dry, frocketeers. x
